Deacon Ministriy Update
Josh Bohanon - Deacon Chair
We hope that you have been able to see results of our new deacon service groups’ efforts and we thank you for your participation and support to make this successful. The results we are realizing could not happen without your help. If you are not involved and are interested in helping one of these groups, please let any of the deacons know. Their contact information can be found on the back of the weekly bulletin. In case, you have forgotten, the three groups are broken down as follows:
Group 1 – New Members/In Reach – Contact Leader – Wayne Ball
Group 2 – Hospital/Nursing/Elderly/Shut-in – Contact Leader – Justin Sloan
Group 3 – Crisis Ministry/Domestic Issues/Financial Aid – Contact Leaders – Brad Krick or Jeff Eldridge
If you or a member of your immediate family are faced with a difficult situation or simply has questions about our church, please do not hesitate to contact one of these men or myself for prayer or assistance in any of the categories.
We had our first service cancellation on January 28, 2009 and the use of local broadcasting for communication appeared to be effective. We were prepared for some “hick-ups” since this was the first time we used this form of communication, and of course not everything went off as planned. We hope that if this is needed in the future, it will be easier for you to get timely communications of cancellations. If you think that a cancellation may be forthcoming, we encourage you to tune in to one of two local broadcasting channels:
WISH – Channel 8
WTHR – Channel 13
We will be posting those cancellations on each of these news stations and as you know from watching before, those cancellations will run continually until the cancellation notice is no longer required. If you anticipate a cancellation and do not see the notification on the news station, service has not been cancelled. Cancellations will also run on these stations’ websites.
Please mark your calendars as we will worship through communion on Good Friday, April 10, 2009 starting at 6:30 pm.
We will plan to accept our next family assistance offering to help our church families in need on April 5, 2009.
As always, please contact us if you have a specific prayer request or need assistance in any way. We appreciate your continued prayers for our group as we strive to serve you, the Church and our Lord and Savior.
Thanks and God Bless.
Josh
